PUTRAJAYA - Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is attempting to challenge three laws that abrogate the mandatory requirement for Bills to be assented by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
The PKR adviser is seeking to declare that Section 12 of the Constitution (Amendment) 1983 (Act A566), Section 2 of the Constitution (Amendment) 1984 (Act A584) and Section 8 of the Constitution (Amendment) 1994 (Act A885) are ultra vires Article 4(1) of the Federal Constitution.
He named the Government as the sole respondent in the motion.
A notice of motion was filed through Messrs Daim & Gamany at the Federal Court here yesterday.
He is also challenging the constitutionality of the National Security Council Act 2016, which was implemented without royal assent.
