KUALA LUMPUR - Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammudin Hussein and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir last night were awarded The BrandLaureate Nation Building Brand Icon Leadership Award.

Under the category, Hishamuddin was named the Brand Influencer Icon, while Zambry as the Game Changer Icon.

The other recipient for the category is founder and president of LimKokWing University of Creative Technology Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing who received the award as the Unity and Harmony Icon.

The awards were presented during the BrandLaureate Brand Icon Leadership Awards gala dinner by BrandLaureatte President Tan Sri Rainer Althoff.

Meanwhile wife of the fifth prime minister of Malaysia, Tun Jeanne Abdullah won the BrandLaureate Royal Quintessential Brand Icon Leadership Award, while pro chancellor of University Malaya Toh Puan Datuk Seri Dr Aishah Ong received the BrandLaureate Hall of Fame-Lifetime Achievement Award.

KUALA LUMPUR - The Communications and Multimedia Ministry is considering a proposal to require eligible online news portals to register with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak said the idea was to make news portals in the country more responsible and enable the MCMC to determine the volume of visitors to such portals.
