KUALA LUMPUR - Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor tonight attended the International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry (IWFCI) Malaysia’s charity gala dinner.

She was accompanied by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim and IWFCI Malaysia president Datuk Elaine Teh.

The dinner was held to mark the federation’s Global Women’s Trade Summit 2017.

The dinner featured a fashion show as well as an auction, which saw 12 dresses by acclaimed designers Ali Millmodh and Anne Teoh being sold off.

The top tailors from the Beladin sewing school had assisted in making the dresses.

A number of artworks, including one painting created by Teh, were also auctioned off.

Teh said the proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to help the women from the school gain the skills necessary to succeed in the fashion and garment industry.

The school, which was set up and funded by IWFCI Malaysia, teaches poor single mothers professional and business skills, among others.

KUALA LUMPUR - Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammudin Hussein and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir last night were awarded The BrandLaureate Nation Building Brand Icon Leadership Award.

KUALA LUMPUR - The Communications and Multimedia Ministry is considering a proposal to require eligible online news portals to register with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak said the idea was to make news portals in the country more responsible and enable the MCMC to determine the volume of visitors to such portals.
