BATU PAHAT: A total of 15 relatives of the Malaysians victims that perished in a bus crash in Chiang Mai are now on their way to Thailand.
The group left Batu Pahat at around 5am Monday in a van headed for Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), where they are expected to board a Thai Airways flight at around 1pm and arrive in Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport in at 5pm.
Chiu Travel manager Terence Yung said the group would then travel to Chiang Mai on a domestic flight.
He said they would aid Thai authorities in the identification of the victims.
It was reported that 13 Malaysians were killed in a horrific bus tragedy near Chiang Mai when the driver, who was fleeing from an earlier collision, veered the vehicle off a mountainous highway.
Four other Malaysians were seriously injured while five other suffered minor injuries in the accident, which occurred at around 12.20pm Sunday.
