PM Lauds History-Making Racer Hafizh Syahrin

KUALA LUMPUR - National motorcycle racer Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah has received a pat on the back from none other than Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak for becoming the first Malaysian to compete in the 2018 World MotoGP Championship.

“Congratulations Hafizh Syahrin, Malaysia’s first rider to compete in MotoGP for entire season,” Najib tweeted last night.

Hafizh, nicknamed ‘Pescao 55’, made history after competing for the full season with the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team.

The 23-year-old Selangorian will team up with 2016 Moto2 world champion Johann Zarco as the second rider, replacing Jonas Folger, who pulled out over health concerns.
