Integrated Care Centres Proposed In BN Manifesto

KUALA LUMPUR - Wanita Barisan Nasional has proposed an integrated care centre in all development areas to be included in the coalition’s manifesto, its chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said.

“With the old folk’s home and childcare centre in the same location, there will be interaction between the senior citizens and the children,” she told reporters at a pre-Chinese New Year event at the Selangor King George V Silver Jubilee Fund old folk’s home.

“Hopefully, when Barisan wins and we have got the mandate, this suggestion can be included in the 12th Malaysia Plan,” she said.

In her speech, Shahrizat urged senior citizens to take care of “Ah Jib Gor” as he would be taking care all of us.

“Ah Jib Gor” is the nickname the Chinese community often uses when they are referring to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

At the event, together with Wanita MCA chief Datuk Heng Seai Kie and other women leaders from Barisan, Shahrizat presented ang pow and hampers to 125 residents of the old folk’s home.

Heng said Malaysia was a country with good economic growth, unlike what certain parties claimed.

“We are among the fastest-growing economies in the region,” she said, adding Malaysia will benefit from China’s Belt and Road initiative.
